Message they normally will continue to make noise after the car is warm. Some other things could be VTC gears (mine did this exact thing), Piston slap, oil pickup is bent/pan is bent, or other oil starvation issues.

If you could post a video that would be super helpful. Film from a few angles, close up, and rev the engine some so we can all hear it (from under the hood). That will help alot.

What mine did was when I first started it the engine was very loud and "clunky". Almost sounded like a disel engine when you first turn it off after its been running. I coulda swore it was my lifters, even did the hose to my ear trick to find the noise and it was coming from the top valve covers. It was so bad when I started the car after it had been sitting that I would start it just for a split second, and then shut it off and start it again. I was thinking that if it was an oil starvation problem that I would reduce the extra wear from starting the engine with no lubrication by shutting it down quickly and restarting it.

I was dreading all the work involved to get TO the lifters and had been needing to replace my intake cam gears with some upgraded ones. Sure enough, new cam gear and NO noise. I cant beleive it but the cold starts are super quiet and smooth now, and no ticking at all cold or hot.
